Yesterday, Google introduced what it hopes will become a replacement and improvement over traditional email.
Called Google Wave, it is a hybrid email program that combines the ability to incoporate rich media and content sharing. It promises to be a way of communicating and incorporating all the bells and whistles of using video, pictures, audio and instant messaging, along with collaborative tools.
One would also expect Google Wave to have provisions for “playing well with mobile” and perhaps allow for the development and creation of third party enhancements and apps.
Rollout isn’t scheduled for several months and its hard to say how fast adoption may be.
