Nuwaste Studios Free Pocket Light Meter App for iPhone

This is currently a free app that is advertising supported that uses the iPhone’s camera as a spot meter, as well as an incident meter.  The app works with either the forward or backwards facing cameras on the iPhone. You can move the reading area around on the screen to take multiple readings or a very specific reading.

The app is very accurate and full featured and is a DV Magazine Award Winner. While the app will also function on an iPad, most will find it too difficult to be of great value. Stick to the iPhone. This is a perfect companion for those shooting with DSLR’s, in particular those opting to use older, manual lenses. It is available  via the Apple App Store.
